How many sessions are needed?
Usually 2-3 are sufficient. However everyone is different so more may be required.
What is it suitable for?
The Dorn method is helpful for the following problems:
Neck pain, back pain, sciatica, joint problems, leg length problems, headaches and migraines.
The therapy aims to restore balance to the body by restoring joint/spinal alignment. As a consequence Dorn may have a beneficial effect on other common health problems, for example, digestive issues etc.
Are there any contraindications?
People with the following conditions should not be treated.
Acute inflammation or fever, paralysis, acute migraine attacks, any recent accidents, post surgery of discs, cancer, acute prolapsed disc, ongoing cortisone medication for osteoporosis, immobility- clients need to be able to walk.
Is Dorn painful?
Dorn should not cause pain. Sometimes there can be a little discomfort during spinal correction.
Are there any after effects following a Dorn session?
The body can respond in the following ways for approx 3 days after a treatment:
-Dull muscular pain
-Light pressure discomfort on a corrected area
-muscle tension on corrected area
-Tiredness
-Detoxification signs eg,headache, hot and cold sensations, need to urinate more often,
-Feeling irritable/emotional/upset .
Should I take it easy after a session?
It is advisable not to do any strenuous exercise for 48 hrs, no excessive stretching, no sitting cross-legged, no bending to the side to lift anything ( this can pull the pelvis out of alignment). No excessive twisting of the hips.
How often do I need to do the exercises?
It is recommended that exercises are done daily to promote correct alignment of joints and or spine.
