Bowen4Balance takes your privacy seriously. By visiting this website, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

 

For the purposes of the Data Protection laws currently applicable in the UK, information gathered during your consultation and/or your contact with us will be logged and controlled by us.  We are, therefore, the Data Controller and the Data Processor for this type of data.  The basis for processing this type of data is Contractual Obligation.

“Bowen4Balance” (Sarah McConnell) is registered with the ICO (Information controller’s office) Registration reference number Z3596305.

 

We trade as “Bowen4balance”, a complementary therapy business whose purpose is to assist our clients to improve their health and wellbeing. In order to provide our services we need to gather sensitive and  personal information. Our lawful basis for processing this information is to enable us to provide the right therapy treatment for each client, this is a contractual agreement between “Bowen4Balance” and the client.

 

Retention Period

 

Your data will be retained for a period of seven years following your last appointment, for adults and seven years from your 18th birthday, for children.  This is also required by our insurers.

 

Information we may collect from you

 

Information we collect from you, where you choose to provide it, is gathered and processed for the purposes of fulfilling the contract between us to provide therapy services.  Should you wish to exercise your rights to opt out of this processing, we will no longer be able to provide the service you have requested.

 

Bowen4Balance does not contact its clients for marketing purposes.  Your information is not shared with third parties unless you request, in writing, that information be sent to another healthcare provider.

Client's personal and sensitive information is stored on hardcopy and kept in files in a lockable cupboard or filing cabinet. Email addresses and emails are held on a password protected laptop,  mobile phone numbers are kept both on hardcopy records and on a password protected mobile phone.  No sensitive data is stored on mobile devices.  Your online website activity, when on our site, is provided by Google and does not contain any personal or sensitive data – merely website visitor activity for the purposes of administering the website.

 

Exercising your rights

 

You may revoke your consent to the processing of your data, ask for information about any personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete that information by sending an email to sarah.mcconnell@bowen4balance.co.uk .  Please be specific about your requirement.  You may be sent a form to complete and may be asked to provide identification.

 

Any Subject Access Request will be free of charge providing it is not considered to be “manifestly unfounded or excessive”.

It is unlikely that the collection of personal data for the purposes of providing a therapy service will cause an objection, as without the data collected it would not be possible to provide a service to the client. However if a client feels their Data has been mishandled they have a right to complain to the ICO.
